Don't even think about leaving the kids home during the Fox Valley Folk Music and Storytelling Festival.
In addition to being able to run around or lie down and enjoy a tasty treat from one of the vendors while listening to outstanding folk music and storytelling performers, there are also numerous children's activities to choose from.
"For younger kids and teens, there's a youth workshop where they can play uses (ukuleles). And, we'll have uses for sale, if you find you've suddenly been bit by the bug," said Ulven.
On Sunday, the festival's children's area will offer a "Khamsa" Good Luck hand craft at 11 a.m., followed by interactive stories and ventriloquist puppets, then a drum making workshop at 1 p.m., a feathered bird craft, a special puppet making workshop, and the 18th annual Kids' Festival Olympics, starting at 5 p.m.
Monday's schedule offers just as much fun, starting at 11 a.m. with Make a Jingle Bracelet, followed by a butterfly craft, old time stories and crafts, "La Cucaracha" Make a Shaker and Learn a Song, two sessions of Little Guitar Pickers (with the uses), and a second day of Kid's Olympics activities at 5 p.m.
All you have to do is bring the kids!
